The Financial Burden of Breast Cancer
A compelling article outlining a report from the Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN), has been released and highlights the "significant financial burdens" that breast cancer patients experience during treatment. According to the article, "80 percent of women experienced a financial impact", and "16 percent had their jobs terminated" as a result of the breast cancer diagnosis. This emphasizes the need for having Critical Illness Insurance in place to minimize financial burdens during treatments.

We are very pleased to announce that Wiegers Financial & Benefits has been nominated and then announced as a finalist in the Community Involvement categoy for the 2010 Sabex awards. This award is presented to the business demonstrating exceptional performance in support of art, culture, amateur sport, education and volunteer groups in the community. Great consideration is given for involvement that is not an extension of the firm's main business activities. Andrea Hansen and Evan Drisner accepted the finalist trophy, and were interviewed backstage, on behalf of Wiegers.
