Michael Barlage was born and raised on a farm near Humboldt.  He began working in the Financial Services Industry 13 years ago in the area.  Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, and he has also completed the Certified Financial Planner, Officers Partners and Directors, Branch Managers, Canadian Securities, and Personal Financial Planners Courses. 

Focusing on the Humboldt district, Michael has established a diverse client base consisting of farmers, business owners, and individual families. He meets with each client/family to provide a customized level of service that satisfies their needs.  He draws on the expertise of specialists at Wiegers Financial to ensure his office can assist his clients with any situation.  He is proud to be providing a top level financial planning service to the Humboldt area.

Michael volunteers for various programs within community.  He was co-chair for alumni gifts for the St. Peters College Capital Campaign and is currently Vice-President of Humboldt Minor Hockey.   He also coaches and volunteers in all sports his children are involved in such as Hockey, Soccer and Baseball.

Prior to attending the University of Saskatchewan, Michael played junior and professional hockey for seven years highlighted by being a member of the 1988 Memorial Cup winning Medicine Hat Tigers in addition to attending two NHL try outs with the Calgary Flames in 1992 and the Ottawa Senators in 1993. 

On a personal note, Michael and his family reside on an acreage, previously the Barlage Family Farm, his Grandfather August Barlage established when moving to Canada from Germany.  Michael and his wife Carla, a teacher at St. Augustine School in Humboldt, have three children, Logan, Noah and Paige.   Michael and his family spend time in the summer camping, wakeboarding, and fishing at Waskesiue and Barrier Lakes.
